A recent survey by Allianz Global Assistance revealed that most American tourists are going on vacation this summer.
According to their results, although this year, the number of Cancun beaches in Mexico is five percent fewer, this location is the most popular among the US population. This is the third time that Cancun has been the most popular resort in the line.
In addition to a beautiful tourist paradise on the Yucatan Peninsula, two more Mexican destinations have reached the top ten; San José del Cabo and Puerto Vallarta.
The biggest surprise about the list is that European favorites, London and Paris, were not included in the top ten. This year’s first year is that there is no European target among the most popular.
Allianz Global Assistance investigated the way to rank the booked trips from the end of May to early September and found that each of the top ten destinations is in Mexico or the Caribbean.
Obviously, these places are amazingly beautiful.
So it seems that most Americans do not want to travel too far this year. They are lucky to have so many fabulous holiday destinations nearby. Here are the most popular:
- Cancun, Mexico
- San José del Cabo, Mexico
- Nassau, Bahamas
- Higuey Republica Dominicana
- Jamaica Montego Bay
- Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
- San Juan, Puerto Rico
- Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
- Grand Cayman Island
